Dirt to Gold on WQXR's Q2WQXR's contemporary music program Q2 is broadcasting a live performance of Dirt to Gold by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and conductor JoAnn Falletta two times this week. Music for Bars w/ SDHDutch percussion group Slagwerk Den Haag has commissioned Faegre to compose and curate a new project called Music for Bars for three percussionists and three dancers. It will explore bars as both social and sonic spaces, intentionally testing the boundaries of acceptable sounds, movements, and behaviors in a bar. The project will tour bars throughout the Netherlands in February 2016. See events for performance dates.
NJSO Cone InstituteFaegre has been chosen to participate in the 2015 New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Edward T. Cone Composition Institute. The program will culminate on July 16th with a concert by the NJSO premiering a new version of Dirt to Gold. For more details see the press release.
Dirt to Gold @ CabrilloThe Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music will premiere a new version of Faegre's Dirt to Gold this August through their Conductors/Composers Workshop. Learn more about the concert.
NYYS First Music CommissionFaegre was selected for the New York Youth Symphony's First Music commission for next season. His new work for the orchestra will be premiered at Carnegie Hall on 29 May 2016. Read the full press release here.
